Summer Job

So for the first time since I was 15 I have stressed about finding a summer job. I know this sounds extremely silly but it was a huge stress for me. Luckily yesterday I interviewed for a position at the Missionary Training Center in Provo as an Athletic Trainer and Coach and got the job. I feel so blessed to be able to find such a great position in this tough economy! Also, what a great environment, around wonderful brothers and sisters who are all out to preach the gospel. How exciting! I start on April 26th (day after my birthday)!
This of course brought to mind my dear brother, Greg, who is currently out serving a mission. He is in Shelby Township, Michigan of the Detroit, Michigan Mission. I am so proud of him and his decisions to better his life while helping others find the gospel! What a cute kid, eh? Who else in this world gives two years of their lives to dedicate to our Father in Heaven? Missionaries have always amazed me and it is even more fun knowing Greg is out there too! Unfortunately, the little butt has not written in several weeks and I am mad at him right now, but i still love him to death!

BYU Devotionals and forums

At BYU we have may wonderful people give devotionals and forums every Tuesday. We were luck to have General Petraeus visit last week . He gave us a list of the Top Ten Reasons Why BYU Students Make Good Soldiers. They are silly and I know there are several silly things like this floating around, but it makes me laugh none the less! Enjoy!

10 » They have already been on many a mission
9 » Army chow is no problem for folks accustomed to eating green Jell-O and shredded carrots.
8 » It's no problem if they don't know what rank someone is. They can just call that person "brother" or "sister."
7 » They never go AWOL -- the prefer to call it "less active."
6 » They will seize any objective swiftly if you tell them refreshments will be served.
5 » They know how to make things happen. If you ever need a base built quickly, you need only to plant a staff and say, "This is the place."
4 » They have innovative ideas for handling insurgents -- like assigning them as home teachers.
3 » They always have a year's supply of provisions.
2 » They are the world's most reliable designated drivers.
1 » They understand how far Iraq has come over the past 7 years -- and they believe that Iraq's old spot in the "Axis of Evil" can now be filled by the University of Utah.

I have the best MOM in the world!

Yesterday at work I got asked about a recipe for my yummy ginger snap cookies. My mom gave me that recipe with a collection of her best recipes in a recipe book that she created for me and my sister for Christmas of 2008. I would bet it is 100 pages or more of all the wonderful concoctions I grew up with. I bawled when I got the gift because it was so sweet of her to create such a great thing for us. This morning I called my mom up to tell her that someone wanted the recipe, so what does she do? She dropped everything and emailed me the recipe. What a sweetheart! She has always been like this too! One time my roommate told her she wanted some yummy Momma Prusak bagels and the next day what do we find hanging on our door... a bag of freshly made bagels with a tag on the outside reading "Momma Prusak's Bagels: Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and your tummy!" How cute!!! I love her to death and could never do her justice in a blog post! Love you mom!

Oh and for those of you who want that cookie recipe you are in luck!

I finally got into the world of blogging!

This is actually a picture from our trip to Hawaii during the Summer of 2008. It is my Grandma, Mom, Aunt, and dear Poppy! What a cute family!

Because this is my first post you may not know but I have an obsession with taking pictures of nature. I am sure there will be may more!

Mom asked me to get her copies of Poppy's wake and it was too large to send via email so I decided to do what I have debated about for months... Start my own blog. I am not sure if anyone will follow. I am not even sure my life is interesting enough to read about, but I thought it a fun, easy way to connect to others! So for my first blog I will post about Poppy's funeral and our family's trip to Seattle
