Day Four continued
Well during day four I experienced some interesting things. First of all, I went to ikea with my roommate and it was really nice to walk around and get my exercise in for the day. Little did I realize that the things that we bought still needed to be carried up to our third floor apartment. That was kinda tough because I feel a bit weaker. I wasn't tired, but rather just didn't have the strength that I normally have. I recovered fairly quickly though and now like all of our new toys! I also wasn't hungry at all yesterday. I ate my full meal for lunch but when it came to dinner I had to force the chicken down. Ok maybe that is too dramatic, but I ate it feeling like I was just eating to eat not because I need it. That was kind of a cool feeling. I have never been able to just not need food. My measurements are all still the same so hopefully we will see results soon!

Day Four
Well I just woke up and my weight dropped to a dramatic 194.4. Let’s see how this day goes.
Day three
Day three was the first real day of the diet. I ate strawberries for my fruit. Grilled my chicken on the GF grill and microwaved the broccoli. I just used a little pepper to garnish. I ate that for lunch and dinner. I have yet to run to the store and get the Melba toast. I might do that today. Besides the food the day wasn’t half bad. I chewed some extra gum most of the day and that helped. Also keeping yourself busy when you are hungry helps. I have also noticed I am very thirsty while on this diet. I was told to drink about 80 oz of water. This seems like a lot of water, but I sure was able to take it all in yesterday. As for my measurements everything is essentially the same. I have 2 inches off my thigh. I am unsure if I measured in a different place than the doctor or if my clothes added two inches to me when she measured. Also my weight came in at 198.2. now this was in the evening because that is when I remembered to measure myself. I will try to be more accurate and do it the first thing in the morning tomorrow.
Day two
Day two was much easier than day one. My stomach wasn’t as upset with the idea of fatty foods. I went out to dinner with friends and then stopped by krispy Kreme on the way home. It was a great last hurrah! With all the fat I ate I only gained less than a lb and supposedly that should help with the hunger later in the diet. I can’t wait to get started watch the weight melt off. Weight 198.9

Day One
Day one:
Who knew today would be so hard. No not hard because of a lack of food, but hard because of too much food. Confused? Don’t worry so was I. Today and tomorrow are loading days. This means that have to eat lots of fat filled foods. Sounds easy but let me tell you it has not been. I have been restricted so long that I don’t crave those things any more and that makes it even harder to shovel it down. Secondly, it is tough because I have a very sensitive stomach so I have had some tough visits with the restroom today trying to deal with the food my body does not want. Oh well, I can do this for one more day, and then it’s onto the restricted part of the diet. Thank goodness!
The HCG comes in a liquid spritzer form which tastes like mouthwash and vitamins. I spray it under my tongue and hold it there for 30 seconds before swallowing. It makes my tongue tingle.
Besides feeling full to the brim with fat, I am quite tired today. Hopefully that will subside soon! I will keep you posted on my progress.

Healthy Venture
So I have had some health issues lately and have been seeing a hormone therapist to help “balance” me out. She has been fantastic and I am slowly making progress. I have high insulin, testosterone, DHEA and prolactin levels, while I have low b12, d3, progesterone, and thyroid levels. What a mess eh?
Well, I have been careful about what I eat, but I am having a hard time loosing the weight. My doctor suggested I go on the HCG diet, which will stop my body from struggling from the carbs and give it a chance to heal. An added benefit is that I should drop some weight. I am excited and nervous to add some more hormones to the mix, but to drop back down to a normal size would be ideal! The course that I am doing is a 40 day course, kinda like lent?!? I can do anything for 40 days, right?!
So, even though this is somewhat embarrassing, I thought I would document where I am to start with. (I have already dropped almost 20 lbs)
Here are my measurements for 7/20/10
Biceps-13”
Chest- 44”
Waist-38”
Hips- 43”
Buttocks-45”
Thighs-26-27” (left is slightly smaller due to knee issues)
Weight: 195.2
Pants size:14-16
I will measure myself once a week and keep close tabs to see the results. I will also try to document the daily occurrences while on the meds.
Wish me luck.

Camping
This weekend I was able to get away from it all and go camping with friends and family. We went up Mapleton Canyon to a campground called Whiting. It has been a favorite for years because of its cute campground and great location. I booked the campsite from Friday to Sunday.
Mom and dad drove the trailer up there for us around two. They got the campsite set up and we arrived around four. It was great to come and have it all set-up. Well we set the rest of the site up with our stuff and got ready to start dinner prep. Ash got a dutch oven for christmas so it was time to christen it with our famous dutch oven pizza. We made 4 12" pizzas and two cobblers. It was fantastic tasting and everyone seemed to enjoy. The next morning we made German pancakes (another must with us) and Erin and Dave came back to visit. For lunch we had hot dogs roasted over the fire. (Seems kinda dumb to do during the day, but it helps keep the bugs away). And for dinner we did moms stew with buttery biscuits on top. That was a hit! For dessert we had brownie pudding, though I didn’t have any, I heard it was yummy.
We had several visitors through out the trip; Matthew, Ali, Geoff, bryant, Carlie, Erin, Dave, Whit, Marsh, Corby and Zander all made appearances Along with both sets of parents. It was fun to have everyone around enjoying the company and great outdoors.
We did have a couple of snaggles though. The first night there was a rowdy group just up from our site that did not go to sleep until almost 3 am. The tough part was that they were up at 7 am. Not much peace and quite that first day, but they were better the second night and morning. The second mishap was that I got really sick Saturday night. Luckily both parents were there and Geoff and Bryant. The all gave me a blessing to feel better and I did after loosing my cookies a few times. I did go home for the evening though and slept in my own bed. Dad is convinced it is an ulcer, and I am fairly convinced too. I should find out for sure today at my doctors appointment.
We went back sunday morning and I relaxed while Ashlee made breakfast and the boys cleaned up the site. Mom and dad came to get the trailer (with their new truck) and ate with us. The hash was yummy (I was told) and I think will become a staple.
Overall the trip was fantastic and makes me want to go do more! Ashlee is ready to buy a trailer too! Fun times!
